ISIC Leadership Team

Charlotte Russell has served as a leader in IT Security and has held multiple roles delivering IT services over the last 25 years for the University of North Texas System and University of North Texas, including overseeing enterprise security for their healthcare campus. She has a strong desire backed up with historical experience to partner with faculty, staff and students to find solutions that work for the goals CU has as an organization to bring CU Anschutz and CU Denver the cyber security and compliance that’s necessary in our academic and healthcare environments.

Sean began his career at CU in 1988 as a LAN admin for the Area Health Education Centers and eventually migrated to OIT and more recently ISIC. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. Sean's passion for technology started in high school where he learned basic programming on a Tandy TRS-80 circa 1981, and worked with a teletype connected via a SLOW modem to a mainframe computer at DU, which involved punch tape and punch cards. Seriously. His life mantra is "work hard, play hard" and he makes that happen by spending time with his family, reading, watching mixed martial arts, riding his bike, and playing a whole lot of disc golf.

Pamela “Pam” Johnson is the IT Compliance Manager for the Information Security and IT Compliance (ISIC) Risk & Compliance team. In this role, Pam assists with developing long-term IT compliance strategies, driving IT risk and compliance initiatives, and maintaining campus-level security and compliance policies, standards and best practices. She also oversees processes and procedures to protect the university’s data and IT resources, and conducts security and compliance reviews of university IT systems, vendors, and cloud services. Pam earned her degree from the University of North Texas and previously worked as the Director of IT Compliance for the University of North Texas System. She has a diverse background in regulatory fields, including technology security and compliance, payment card best practices, and asset management.

Shaun oversees the administrative management of security and compliance programs, including supporting operational alignment of services, programmatic reporting, and conducting maturity and health assessments. He also supports planning and program development. Shaun has worked on multiple teams within Information Strategy and Services (ISS), including the Denver Student Labs and OIT Service Desk, before transitioning to a compliance analyst role with Information Security and IT Compliance (ISIC) in 2022. Since joining the team, Shaun has excelled in the fast-paced environment, ensuring customer needs are met in areas such as application assessments, data access requests, timely terminations and litigation holds. He has also led the effort to revamp and republish the new ISIC website in collaboration with the ISS Outreach and Communication team. Shaun hopes to continue collaborating with teams across both campuses to help maintain campus security.
